  • Examine and report SHEQ status.
  • Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Tracks all production and metallurgical KPI’s and responds to solve any KPI that is deviating from target within their defined area of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification – BEng or BSc Chemical Engineering, Minerals Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy or equivalent.
  • 10 + years mineral processing experience (preferably gold), including at least 5 + years project related working experience (preferably in Africa).
  • Demonstrated operational experience with SABC grinding, gravity recovery, CIL and AARL elution circuits at a minimum, with TSF, flotation & refractory ore processing experience an added benefit.
  • Awareness of relevant dangerous good legislation, locally and selected international codes.
  • Conversant with the general criteria of the cyanide management code.

  • Manage the O&M Contracts (LTSA and O&M BOP).
  • Manage the following agreements: PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) signed with Eskom, Eskom Budget Quote, DCUOSA, Self-Build Agreement and other relevant agreements if required by the Portfolio Project Manager.
  • Support the Asset Management team, when required, on other signed agreements (i.e.: CTA Agreement with the banks, etc.) and particularly to ensure the project obligations in terms of the loan agreement (CTA) are monitored and managed to ensure it remains fulfilled on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage the project team (Project Engineer, Construction Manager, Site Superintendent, Health and Safety Manager, Environmental Manager, Quality Manager, Commissioning Manager, etc.…) before, during, and after the construction phase.
  • Direct internal operations to achieve project budgeted results and other financial criteria, and to preserve the capital funds invested in the project.
  • Ensure that all the relevant insurances, permits and contracts remain in full force during the construction of the facility.
  • Managing relationships with landowners and the local community.
  • Perform on-site inspections for quality of workmanship, quality of materials, conformity with plans & specifications, code compliance, on-site safety, project schedule vs progress, and general progress of the construction project.
  • Maintain observation reports/logs including work description, work methods, contractors on site, weather conditions, observations, photos, etc.
  • Ensure all lien/claim releases are executed.
  • Monitor the schedule throughout the process, report deviations and variances, and assist in developing alternate methods for corrective action.
  • Manage the requirements of the Management Services Agreement to ensure the Company and its stakeholders remains compliant with the signed contract with the Associated Company
  • Issue Internal Reports to the Company as well as a Monthly Report to the relevant stakeholders by highlighting progress, risks and opportunities and any other main information pertinent to the project.
  • Record all certificates, change orders, amendments, etc. and ensure compliance with the company document control procedures.
  • Hand over the project documents to the relevant party.
  • Participate in senior management and board level and EXCO level meetings, if required.
  • Responsible for Car and Food Management on site (and all related costs) in accordance with company Policy and Procedures.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in major engineering infrastructure projects, with 5 years’ experience in renewable generation projects and 3 years’ experience in wind farm projects.
  • A related tertiary qualification.
  • SACPCMP preferable.
  • Previous experience in Renewable Energy .

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient and effective utilization of allocated underground equipment and production processes to achieve production targets for the function/department/section to ensure business objectives are met.
  • To manage and coordinate the engineering and operations activities and ensure that the legal responsibility as required by statutory requirements are adhered to.
  • Oversee the contracting services rendered to the entire mine/plant by developing a scope and managing the commercial process to appoint Contractors.
  • Manage all contractors on site and ensure adherence to rules and regulations.
  • Maintain and improve operational supporting systems and procedures including management of contractor performance against service level agreements.
  • Schedule and monitor the execution of the asset care activities in order to meet set industry parameters of reliability and availability of assets within span of control, through optimum maintenance mix techniques and the coordination of resources.
  • Assesses the performance of the Asset Management System users and ensure proficiency through relevant training.
  • Conduct and facilitate root cause analysis with stakeholders to ensure optimum asset care planning.
  • Assist the Maintenance Planner/ Superintendent Planning in the planning of the maintenance windows in coordinating the needs between the operational – and maintenance sections.
  • Verify the accuracy of signed off work orders and ensure timeous, accurate system feedback.
  • Assist management in compiling the operational strategy, setting of achievable production targets and to compile, manage and control operational, Capex and labour budgets including the management of service provider performance according to SLA’s.
  • Drive (mining) improvements projects toward enhancing the operations.
  • Ensure plant and equipment optimization by conducting timeous investigations, benchmarking and feasibility studies toward identifying deviations / deficiencies in a proactive manner.
  • Conduct simulation projects, forecasting, planning optimization and support.
  • Implementation of operational plans that support strategic initiatives.
  • Budget and cost control.
