Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineering Manager who will be responsible for planning and coordinating project work, supervising teams, researching new products and resolving problems by finding new solutions.  They will develop strategies, manage budgets, and ensure successful project engineering execution.  The purpose of this position is to ensure that all Project designers and engineers adhere to the Project’s defined Engineering standards and legislative requirements while also generating successful designs, achieving schedule and budget targets. The Engineering Manager is the main point of interface between the Design teams of all Consultants and Contractors working on the Project and the company Project and Operations teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company Health and Safety responsibilities.
  • Identify Project hazards and risks while performing daily tasks and maintenance and initiate preventative measures.
  • Ensure that Project designs and procurement standards comply with legislative and operational requirements.
  • Ensure that vendor documentation supplied during the Project supports the establishment of operating systems to ensure machinery is in good and safe working order, including definition of regular maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Assist the companies’ operational management to prepare training manuals to ensure production teams understand and follow equipment safety protocols and procedures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Communicate and report on the ESG achievements and challenges of the Project design to senior management and other stakeholders.                            
  • Establish, review and approve the engineering and design portions of organisational structures proposed for the Owner’s Engineering team, EPCM Contractors and subordinate contractors, in the design offices and on site.
  • Collaborate with the EPCM and other Project contractors to establish and execute quality control processes that ensure the finished Project deliverables meet the companies’ operational expectations and comply with the relevant regulations and certifications.
  • Propose and approve innovative strategies to enhance plant and infrastructure designs or to improve ergonomics of operations, or to reduce environmental impacts by reducing waste, emissions, energy consumption and water usage.
  • Coordinate Project engineering responses to technical queries from the company, or from the operational team.
  • Review and approve appointment, recruiting and supplementary training of senior engineers in the EPCM team(s) of the main Project contractors.
  • Evaluate Owner’s team engineers’ performance in detail, and Contractor engineer performance at a more superficial level, and provide feedback and coaching to improve their skills and motivation.
  • Ensure that all EPCM and other Contractors establish and implement approved checking procedures for work done by their designers and engineers at all stages of the Project.
  • Approval and management of engineering budgets. 
  • Cost control as well as earned value management and control.
  • Direct or supervise the work of multiple teams.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders of the Project to ensure optimization of the Engineering design and procurement process. 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • At least 10 years’ experience as an appointed Section Engineer on a mine.
  • At least 10 years’ experience of supervising multidisciplinary engineering and design groups on metallurgical plant and infrastructure projects.
  • Relevant engineering qualification. Mechanical Engineering Degree would be preferable.
  • Proven work experience as an Owner’s Team Engineering Manager or similar role in a project environment
  • PMBOK or similar project management qualification would be preferable, with specific knowledge of engineering management

Reporting Structure:

The Senior Service Engineer will report directly to the Regional Lead for Power Generation, who in turn reports to the CEO.

The selected candidate will offer technical support in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance, ensuring the upkeep and enhancement of machinery and equipment to enhance or sustain optimal levels of reliability, availability, cost-efficiency, performance, customer relations, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule team activities for effective resource utilization and meeting targets.
  • Monitor sales and service operations to identify and address problem areas, adapting procedures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with functional area managers to integrate sales and service activities with other business functions and align them with current and future sales and marketing strategies.
  • Oversee complex contracts to maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop contract management professionals to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Section 13 Trade Certificate Millwright
  • Proof of Training / Modules/POE/Proof of apprenticeship
  • Basic Computer literacy, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must have Flameproof
  • Must have Gas Testing
  • Relevant mining experience (5 years)
  • Underground mining environment in the production section

Job Description:

Our client is a multinational gold mining company with operations in West Africa who require a Senior Metallurgist to report directly into the Group Metallurgist. The primary purpose of the Senior Metallurgist (Operations) is to identify, develop and safely drive to completion projects that positively impact cash flow.  The successful candidate will focus on implementing existing projects and bringing new ideas forward to positively influence recovery, throughput, and spend at the Company’s gold processing plants. The Senior Metallurgist also leads site Metallurgists by continuously providing metallurgical expertise through measured guidance and training.

The successful candidate will manage activities as needed to support the execution of an optimized business plan.  The person in this position will coordinate activities that support Resolute Mining’s best business practices and be part of a team that ensures all assets worth is maximized while staying true to the Company Purpose and Values.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop in conjunction with sites, appropriate plant modifications to address metallurgical issues and to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop appropriate test work and review programs to address metallurgical issues and to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop relationships with external consultants for provision of expert technical support as required
  • Organise, liaise and co-ordinate external engineering firms to develop optimized designs and plans for projects on time and on budget
  • Use technical writing skills to author sections of design reports as required
  • Support Due Diligence efforts as required
  • Audit and support corrections in site process life of mine plan models
  • Data assembly, interpretation and reporting as required
  • Plan budgets for projects and report as needed for financial purposes
  • Coordinate spend on contractual services as needed to execute tasks
  • Schedule regular meetings to update on and influence projects.
  • Monitor and report on prevailing process plant behaviour, intervene as needed to troubleshoot and guide solution implementation in support of improved cash flow.
  • Co-ordinate plant surveys on an as needed basis to support metallurgical justification for projects.
  • Provide input into weekly/monthly metallurgy report
  • Provide expertise to site-based Plant Metallurgists in general metallurgical principles and operating practices.
  • Execute high level troubleshooting of plant issues as required in conjunction with site based Plant Metallurgists.
  • Catalogue and maintain a Corporate Metallurgical database for past company metallurgical test work and future documents as produced.  Openly share with site personnel.
  • Support the development of Corporate Metallurgical Standards, and provide technical support to operations to enable the achievement of the required performance standards
  • Identify best practices and progress continuous improvement opportunities

 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 10 years industrial plant experience including at least 3 years in project development; at least 3 years in direct operations roles
  • Demonstrated self-guiding and focused on improvements in business performance.
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills particular in Microsoft® Office applications. Pi data historian, MetSim, JK SimMet experience a plus.
  • Ability to lead a project team both internal and external from a position of support.
  • Ability to maintain work group focus on safety and environmental considerations.
  • Applying sound metallurgical or engineering concepts in design work.
  • Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • A demonstrated track record in analytical problem solving together with an aptitude to problem solving

Our client an international mining group is currently looking for a Mine Manager to join their project in West Africa. Reporting to the General Manager, the Mine Manager will be responsible for the safety and management of the mining team. Specifically, the role is responsible for all technical deliverables from the Mine Technical Services (MTS) team, Mine Operations team and Mining Contractors, operational KPIs, data and statistics, operator training, documenting quality controls & rigorous action tracking.

Rotation: 6/3.

Must be fluent French speaker.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of all actions required within the mining team: MTS, mine operations, mining contractors, and associated teams.
  • Responsible managing operational KPIs on a daily and weekly basis for owner and contractor activities associated with mining operations.
  • Responsible for delivering best-in-industry mine operations from a quality perspective in the pits, on the dumps, and blast patterns.
  • Responsible for working with the Mining Supervisors to audit specific activities, document non-conformance and put in place action plans for correction.
  • Ensure KPIs associated with safety audits and hazard controls are put into Isometrix, communicated clearly to the owners, and closed out with appropriate evidence.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • BS – Mine Engineering or Similar Technical Field.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in open pit mining within similar environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, software preferable).
  • French speaker mandatory.
  • Experience working in multicultural environment.
