What industry do you work in?
I work in the Mining Industry and have been for the last 4 years in Operations and Mining Industry Maintenance.
What are your strengths with regards to working in the Mining Operations and Maintenance side of things?
I am a hard worker and accept new opportunities. I am not afraid to make decisions and to lead by example.
What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?
What inspired me to get into this industry is going into the unknown with mining.
What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?
To perform and stand out above the rest is always challenging because competition is tough.
How do you manage and overcome these challenges?
I always give my best and put 100% in everything I do.
What has been the highlight of your career?
The highlight of my career thus far has been achieving the highest development meters. Being part of the mines rescue team for 12 years has also been a significant achievement of mine.
If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary?
This will be based on company policies: +/_ $1500 (USD) without any experience.
What can this person expect to earn after 10 years of experience?
After 10 years of experience at least $6500 (USD) monthly is what an employer can expect to receive.
What advice can you offer people who are in the same industry as you?
Do not take any shortcuts. Correct way or no way!
If you had to describe yourself in FIVE WORDS, what would they be?
- Dedicated;
- Hard worker;
- Trust worthy;
- Accept my wrong doings;
- Punctual.
As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?
Zambia because of the current mining and exploration activities going on will give the country a boost.
Rwanda is also under the spotlight with regards to its mining sector.
CA Global is a big believer in Africa, why do YOU believe in Africa?
Yes because I believe that the mind set of these countries is heading towards the right direction and is bringing additional health to the country. Adding to this, the current exporting commodities are high.
