Job Description:

A leading mining services company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a major open-pit mining operation in West Africa. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for production, safety, cost control, equipment performance and operational delivery across the project. The role will coordinate Mining Operations, Maintenance and Technical Services while ensuring the mine plan and contractual requirements are achieved. This position requires a senior mining leader with substantial open-pit and large-scale operational experience, strong commercial awareness and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a remote FIFO environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and management of open-pit mining operations across the project.
• Drive achievement of production, safety, cost and operational performance targets.
• Oversee drilling, blasting, loading and hauling activities in line with the mine plan.
• Coordinate Mining Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services and supporting functions.
• Monitor fleet performance, equipment utilisation, productivity and operational efficiency.
• Manage project budgets, operating costs, forecasts and overall commercial performance.
• Lead production reviews and implement corrective actions to address operational performance.
• Manage client relationships, contractual delivery, team performance and project reporting.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Minimum 15 years' mining experience, preferably within large-scale open-pit or contract mining.
• Minimum 7–10 years' experience in senior mining operational or project management roles.
• Strong open-pit experience across drill & blast, load & haul and fleet management.
• Proven accountability for production, budgets, operating costs and equipment performance.
• Strong experience managing client relationships and contractual performance.
• Previous West African and/or remote FIFO mining experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong leadership, commercial, operational and HSE management capabilities; English or French required.
