Tell us a little about yourself?
Working for CA Mining is my first Recruitment Job. After Studying and being so interested in HR, Recruitment made the most sense in terms of a starting point – HR is 90% talent management and acquisition.
My interests include spending time outdoors as much as possible (I prefer forest walks and dams over the sea and beaches), reading, when I get a chance, and cooking – I love to be in the kitchen
I come from a Hospitality background – I was a chef, hostess and waitress before I studied further.

I am a Recruitment Consultant for CA Mining. I work predominately on GeoTechnical, Environmental, Medical and Training Roles.
Academic background?
I completed my Bcom Management degree, focusing mainly on HR, Industrial Psych and Labour Law, through Unisa.
Fun fact about yourself?
I can open beer bottles with my teeth!
Who is your role model and why?
Russell Brand. He has overcome the most insane hardships and drug addiction and is spending his time now to help others in the same situations. He uses his wealth and influence to try make a real difference in people’s lives.
Advice for clients/candidates?
CLIENTS: Be honest. Keep us updated. Give us a chance – let us show you what we are capable of before deciding NO right off the bat.
CANDIDATES: Be honest! Make sure you are submitting your CV for jobs that are relevant to you and your qualifications. Be patient with us, we can only move as fast as our clients allow. Trust us to handle the process for you. And you can NEVER have too much information on your CV.
Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?
Rwanda, because of the Tin and Tantalum Mining in the area.
What is your outlook within your industry over the next 5 years?
We have just started noticing an upturn in the market. I think the commodities that are used most in everyday life and technology are going to see massive booms in the coming years. Especially with the growing interest in Electrical / Zero Emission cars and smart phones and televisions. Gold is making an appearance again and I am excited to see what the future holds with that.
CA Global is a big believer in Africa, why do YOU believe in Africa?
Africa is the most commodity rich continent in the world – and I think we have just begun to scratch the surface of what she has to offer.
My biggest hope is that better – more environmentally friendly ways of mining will be developed in the future – so as to be able to mine these commodities without causing too much damage.
In an ideal world I would hope that the investors with the big bucks that are pumping funds into all these mining ventures also offer assistance to the local communities – in whatever way they need.
