Job Description:


Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor whose role will be to carry out Quantity Surveying activities, such as estimating, planning and project controls, in accordance with Commercial Contractual requirements, standards and procedures throughout the life cycle of the project. The incumbent will also be required to assist and contribute to dispute resolution between parties involved in the project.


 


Responsibilities:  


  • Managing project planning, costs and budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs.
  • Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maximising of revenue through all contractual and commercial avenues of the contracts
  • Ensuring that all contractual rights and obligations are met.
  • Compilation of monthly progress valuations, preparation of monthly payment certificates and invoices.
  • Compilation of subcontractor valuations and preparation of Payment Certificates
  • Compilation and updating of contract price adjustment models and indices
  • Ensuring that all contractual rights and obligations are met.
  • Compiling of monthly measuring (dimension) sheets from Survey records.
  • Assisting GM Commercial with contract negotiations
  • Assisting Tender Department with review of Tender Documents.
  • Ensure compliance to Safety and Quality policies, procedures and standards.
  • Maintain relations through engagement with clients and Snr Team Members for project review and updates.


 


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • Minimum 8 years related experience within a project environment as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience on Candy Software (Estimating, Planning, Project Controls)
  • Exposure to FIDIC and NEC or similar contract documentation
  • Sound knowledge of Mining Practices and Standards
  • Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of mining projects.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques
