What industry do you work in?
I work in the Iron Ore Mining (Processing) Sector.
What are your strengths?
My strengths are Planning / Scheduling / Organizing / Coordinating.
What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?
I am motivated by all the opportunities out of my Country (South Africa).
What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?
The fact that I work in an environment where everything is still not in place, waiting for spares take very long.
How do you manage and overcome these challenges?
Putting systems in place and training National employers accordingly is how I deal with such challenges.
What has been the highlight of your career?
My career highlight thus far was when I was promoted from a Maintenance Fitter to –Planner.
If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary?
Roughly $85 000.00 on a yearly basis.
What can this person expect to after 10 years of experience?
Roughly $140 000.00 on a yearly basis.
What advice can you offer people who are in the same industry as you?
Always try to plan everything ahead that are in your control and always be humble and respectful towards others and nature.
