I work within the Mining Industry and my skills are Geological and Resource Modeling, Management data and QAQC.
What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?
The inspiration to get into the mining industry is the possibility to deliver reliable resources and contribute to the growth of economic.
What qualifications and experience did you have to gain In order to establish yourself and therefore become a professional within your industry?
My qualifications include a degree in geology with mining experience and always investing in specific courses into the resource evaluation.
What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?
The most challenging aspect of my field is to equilibrate resources, costs and profit.
How do you manage and overcome these challenges?
I manage to deliver the most reliable information as I can get.
What has been the highlight of your career?
The highlight of my career is implementation of a quality system in an operation that any person inside the group could get.
What could somebody expect to earn within your field at starting level or at trainee level?
As a trainee, the person can expect to ear USD100,00 yearly, considering expat positions within the African continent.
What could somebody expect to earn after working within your field after 10 years?
I think after 10 years experience, the person can expect to ear USD200,00 year, considering expat positions within the African continent.
Who is your role model and why?
My role models are professionals who are honest and trustworthy in any aspect of the business.
What motivates you to work this hard?
The main motivation to work hard is the possibility to develop my career.
What is your outlook within your industry over the next 5 years?
My outlook for the next 5 years is to reach senior positions.
As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?
I think there are several African countries that will vastly grow because the government is investing more money although I don’t see too many efforts to improve mining education. These countries are: Rwanda, Mozambique and Nigeria.
