Meet Martin Arthur, a candidate working in Africa’s Mining industry (Nigeria). This young gentlemen shares with us some of the challenges found within his line of work, and provides all of us with some valuable tips too. As most of you know this is not the first time I am sharing an interview with a candidate before, and I think this is an amazing way to talk about job-specific topics and facts which expose us to different experiences that we, from the same line of work, experience.

What industry do you work in?

I work in the Africa Mining Industry. What are your strengths?

I manage these challenges mentioned through self-motivation. What has been the highlight of your career? The highlight of my career thus far reflects my skill in welding, fabrication and limbering. If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary? USD 4,000 What can this person expect to earn after 10 years of experience? Roughly USD 6,000 but that is negotiable. What advice can you offer people who are in the same industry as you? My advice is that candidates in this line of work need to be dedicated focused and committed to work. If you had to describe yourself in FIVE WORDS, what would they be?
Where in Africa have you worked before? I have worked in Nigeria before. As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why? Anywhere and everywhere in Africa because there are endless exploitation opportunities. CA Global is a big believer in Africa, why do YOU believe in Africa? Africa has natural resources combined with the support of labour and highly skilled workers. What is left is a good managing system and as companies like CA Global are involved, the continent will surely reach its peak.
