Job Description:

Financial Manager to reinforce the accounting and reporting department of the Project and to protect the interests of the minority shareholder of the project. The mining project is composed of several companies including several local entities (one main production company) and a holding entity. The successful incumbent will be based on a mining site with a Chinese management team and will have to report in English to the Group.

 

Responsibilities:

Group reporting & compliance:

  • Report to the Group all the project key financial information
  • Ensure that the accounting team is following and in compliance with local and international accounting rules
  • Ensure that the project has a proper analytical accounting/cost system in place


Monthly/Quarterly closing responsibilities:

  • Involvement in reconciliation of bank accounts and producing the monthly bank reconciliation analysis report
  • Reconciling broker accounts and producing the monthly broker reconciliation analysis report
  • In charge of small companies reporting and monthly booking entries
  • In charge of closing accounting entries including intercompany balance reconciliation, fixed assets depreciation, release of prepayments, accruals and some other technical closing entries
  • Prepare the monthly reporting package for the main part of the balance sheet and the P&L for all the project entities
  • Prepare the quarterly Financial Reporting Package that needs to be sent to all shareholder on a quarterly basis
  • Understand and follow up the Project local taxes
  • Assist the accounting and reporting manager on specific analysis


Annual audit responsibilities:

  • Assist the accounting and reporting manager on providing analysis and information during the annual audit
  • Assist the local CFO (and the Group CFO) for Year End audit and relationship with the auditors in order to insure a proper sign off process and communication with Board of Directors


 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Masters’ degree highly advantageous
  • At least 5 years’ experience in accounting and controlling within international environments
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and outlook and accounting software
  • Full proficient in both Chinese and English (French a plus)
  • Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills required
  • Open minded and ready to give hands when requested
  • Strong technical/IFRS knowledge together with a production and controlling background.
  • Experience in both IFRS and Chinese accounting rules
